Meet Scott Lipps, Candidate for State Rep, District 62
Scott Lipps is Your Ohio State Representative in the 62nd District! The 62nd District represents approximately half of Warren County. Scott is a proven leader in the community and has been a small business owner for nearly three decades. His dedication to the City of Franklin, Ohio, where he served on City Council, and as Mayor for two terms, coupled with business and philanthropic leadership, make him uniquely qualified to represent District 62, in the Ohio General Assembly.
My StoryI am a native son of Southwest Ohio. I was raised in Miamisburg, Ohio. My parents, Kenny and Pat Lipps, still live in the same house that I grew up in -- over 50 years now! After graduating from Miamisburg High School, I had the opportunity to attend the College of Wooster, Wooster, Ohio. After my time at Wooster, I chose to pursue a graduate degree (Masters) at DePaul University in Chicago, IL. Not able to attend college themselves, my parents made incredible sacrifices to provide that opportunity for me. Having worked all the way through college at the campus bowling alley, I learned the value of hard work and how important it is to work for what you want. I am so proud of my parents for teaching me the value of persistence, courage, hard work and reaching for your dreams. After college, I got married, started a family and began a rewarding career in the private sector. My family and I relocated a few miles south to Franklin, Ohio; and have been here ever since. Our daughters, Jessica and Stacey, both graduated from Franklin High School, and went on to graduate from Bowling Green State University. However, Franklin is “home” and they both moved back to Franklin after graduating. Today, both are married and only live a mile apart! A few years after we planted our roots in Franklin, I took a leap and decided to pursue my dream of opening my own small business. I was offered a corporate opportunity that involved a forced-relocation to Florida, but Ohio is my home. Ohio is a wonderful place for entrepreneurs and innovators alike. I could not imagine a better place to raise our family and pursue our dreams! In the last 25 years, I have been blessed with several successful businesses and many opportunities to serve my community. My life and passion has played out in philanthropy (Masons and Shriners), professional organizations (NFIB State Board, Optimists and Rotary Club, Farm Bureau, among others) and public service (Franklin City Council and Mayor). I believe in Southwest Ohio, our community and the people who call this beautiful area “home.” I’ve been so blessed in my life with fulfilling experiences that, I believe, uniquely qualify me to be an advocate for Warren County, small businesses and "Main Street" in Columbus. It would be a great honor to represent you in the Ohio House of Representatives, where I pledge to fight for our community, our values, our future and YOU! God Bless, Scott 937-790-0602 |
