Business and Community Leadership
Leadership and involvement in the community are very important to Scott. He first opened his award-winning business, Sleep Tite Mattress Factory & Showroom, in 1990. In 1999, Scott & the Sleep Tite team were recognized as the Franklin Area Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year.
Scott has also been involved with the Ohio Chapter of the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) since 1996, serving on the Leadership Council State Board for 18 years. NFIB serves as front-line advocates for business owners and our local economies, working with elected officials to foster business growth, locally and statewide. In addition to business, Scott has been a regional leader in philanthropy, as a member of the Miamisburg & Franklin Masonic Lodges and the Antioch Shriners. The Antioch Shriners are comprised of members in 14 counties in southwestern Ohio. The Masonic Lodge in Ohio is the single largest contributor to the Ohio Special Olympics. The Shriners Mission (Fun with a Purpose), is to raise funds and increase visibility for research and care for children with orthopedic challenges and burns. Shriners and Shrine Hospitals have been recognized as the leaders in the research and care of burn victims. All care is provided regardless of insurance or the ability to pay! Scott was honored to serve as Regional President (Potentate) of the Antioch Shriners, in 2014. Scott has also served in a variety of leadership organizations, among them, the Lebanon Optimist Club, Franklin-Springboro-Carlisle Rotary Club, Warren County Area Progress Council (graduate of Leadership Warren County in 2013), Warren County Farm Bureau, Board Member of "Think Regional." Steering Community for Lebanon Raceway Redevelopment, the Business Development Committee of the Warren County United Way and more.. |
