BREAKING: Franklin Councilman Scott Lipps Files for Ohio State House of Representatives

Local Businessman, Scott Lipps, Files Petitions for Ohio House of Representatives

Franklin -- Local councilman and business owner, Scott Lipps, has announced that he will be seeking the 62nd House District seat in the Ohio House of Representatives in 2016.
Quoting Lipps, "Warren County has been a wonderful place to live, raise a family, and build our business. It has been an honor to serve my neighbors in Franklin and to get to know so many wonderful citizens and leaders in Warren County. Decision made in Columbus have a dramatic effect on all of us. These decisions should be made only after considering our quality of life, the impact on our taxes, and bearing they will have on our small business community (regulations, hiring, and JOBS)!"

Lipps has served on Frankling City Countil since first being elected in 2000, where he also served two terms as Mayor. Lipps is the owner of Sleep Tite Matress Factory & Showroom, a small business rooted in Warren County since 1992. Also, Scott served two years as President of the Franklin Area Chamber of Commerce. In 2014, the Dayton Antioch Shriner's Organization elected him as President (Potentate) to lead the organization in their efforts of raising funds, and increasing visibility to assist in their Mission of "Fun with a Purpose" (providing research and care for children with orthopedic challenges or burns). Additionally, Scott has been extremely active with the National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB), including serving on the NFIB/Ohio Leadership Council (State Board) and traveling to Washington DC to testify on behalf of small businesses in front of the Congressional Small Business Committee.

Scott added, "I love serving our community. We can all make a positive difference. I can think of no greater honor than going to Columbus and serving the people of District 62. I will work to protect our community...our values...our home!"

House District 62 is made up of northern Warren County, including the cities of Springboro, Franklin, and Loveland; Villages of Carlisle, Waynesville, Corwin, Harveysburg, Morrow, Pleasant Plain, Maineville, Butlerville, and South Lebanon; and Townships of Hamilton, Franklin, Clear Creek, Salem, Union, Massie, Harlan, Washington and Wayne. Current Representative Ron Maag, leaving the seat due to term limits, has endorsed Scott and is serving as Scott's campaign treasurer.

Current State Representative Ron Maag shared, "Scott's strong work ethic and fiscally conservative track record, combined with his long history of supporting Right to Life issues and 2nd Amendment rights, make me proud and excited to endorse and support his campaign for the seat I have held for 7 years!"

A graduate of Miamisburg High School, the College of Wooster, and DePaul University, Scott has lived, worked, and volunteered in Warren County since 1987. He currently resides in Franklin.
